Athlete Of The Week: Jackson Rocco
HARWICH – Jackson Rocco made sure his final performance on his home court was a memorable one.
The Monomoy senior from Dennis topped all scorers with a game-high 23 points to lead the Sharks in a 48-36 loss to Plymouth South in the Winter Fest Tournament championship on Monday afternoon.
It was a fitting encore performance for Rocco, who has been a mainstay in the Sharks’ lineup the past four years. A few weeks ago, he became the first player in school history to notch 1,000 career points with an 18-point performance in a 56-52 double-overtime loss to Dennis-Yarmouth.
Rocco and the Sharks are vying for a Division 4 state tournament berth and will look to bolster their MIAA rating in their regular-season finale at Nantucket on Wednesday.
A healthy Barnstable County requires great community news.
