    The Coast Guard has been shuttling Santa Claus from the outer beach, where his reindeer and sleigh are parked, to the Chatham Fish Pier for many years now.     A portion of the roof of a historic barn was raised Sunday at the Nickerson Family Association compound in Chathamport. The barn, parts of which date from 1758, was moved from property once owned by the son of Chatham founder William Nickerson on the shores of Bassing Harbor, and is being restored using traditional carpentry under the direction of Ian Ellison.
