Lois N. (Holmes) Zibrat

July 16, 2025

Lois N. (Holmes) Zibrat of Chatham passed away peacefully early in the morning on June 29, 2025.
She was a “True” Cape Codder, being born September 6, 1938, Lois is survived by her husband of 65 years, Edward G. Zibrat, Son, Brian of Chatham (Jo-Ann), Daughter, Terri of Kissimmee, Fla. (David), Granddaughter, Kayla of Kissimee, Fla. and many extended family members.
While calling Chatham “home,” Lois worked for 28 remarkable years for the Chatham School System as the “beloved lunch lady.” She was known for her hard work and compassion to all that passed through the cafeteria line.   Lois always enjoyed cooking and baking never doing anything in a small way, if you mentioned you liked cookies, you didn’t get a dozen, perhaps you would be given “many” dozen.   She was an accomplished knitter, who could reproduce practically anything, her skill at sewing was evident over many years when her children were growing up, producing Halloween costumes for them.  In 2000 Lois and Ed moved from Chatham to St. Cloud, Fla., returning back to Chatham in 2019.
She will be deeply missed and leaves a legacy of love and devotion that hopefully will be played forward. By those who knew her.
For those who wish to remember Lois, donations may be made to the family pantry of Harwich, caring for people in need as Lois did for such a long time.
