Robert ‘Doc’ Donahue
Robert ‘Doc’ Donahue
Robert “Doc” Donahue, of Harwichport, MA and formerly of Watertown and Belmont, MA, was born on March 5, 1947, and passed away on Tuesday, November 11th, 2025, on Veteran’s Day, surrounded by family.
Doc was a true bad ass: tough, strong, and decisive with a gentle soul, always a generous provider to the many who looked up to him. Doc was a Vietnam veteran who was drafted into the army at only 20 years old; a graduate of UMass Boston, a husband for 57 years; a successful business owner who started his own company at age forty after the one he was working for went bankrupt; a talented athlete whose biggest passion was golf, with a four handicap and four holes in one under his belt; a weather enthusiast who loved heading out into snowstorms or into the ocean waves; a natural with languages and accents, fluent in French, Spanish, and Italian; a lover of Brigham’s ice cream, M&M’s, hardcover non-fiction books, and most of all, his family.
Doc was an incredible dad, a role model, a writer of sweet notes he would leave for his daughters to find, a selfless giver of his time, support, love, and hugs. Doc’s huge heart led him to start an annual scholarship for graduating seniors at the University Park Campus School in Worcester, MA 20 years ago.
