“We are coming up on 100 years in business, which I don’t think too many businesses around here can say,” Graeme Milley said about his family’s trucking and trash removal company in Chatham. “We’ve been around since 1928 when my grandfather’s uncle started the business. I am now the fourth generation running the operation.”
Milley Trucking specializes in local residential and commercial trash and recycling removal with an emphasis on strong customer relationships and quality service. They offer service in the Chatham and Lower Cape areas. Milley’s also provides garbage dumpster rentals for larger home cleanouts and for commercial waste collection. A new area Miley’s is rolling out is dump truck services for commercial businesses.
With a tight-knit crew of five longtime employees, Milley’s is hyper-focused on providing the community with some of the best service around. They offer reliable and efficient residential trash pick-up services tailored to meet the needs of the community. They are dedicated to making waste management effortless and environmentally responsible. They pride themselves on excellent customer service and it shows.
“I don’t know about other companies, but we charge the same price whether you leave your cans at the curb or if we have to go into your backyard or shed,” Milley said. “It’s all the same pricing either way. People don’t necessarily realize the service and value that a local company adds. We have customers who regularly leave their cans at the edge of the driveway. And you know if they forget one week, a bigger corporate company would just keep on driving by. My guys stop and think, ‘wait a second. What’s going on here?’ And most of the time they’ll run up to the house to make sure the homeowner didn't forget. My guys take care of it.”
Milley Trucking proudly serves two major Cape Cod institutions with exclusive trash and recycling removal solutions: Monomoy Regional School District and Chatham Bars Inn.
“We are at the Monomoy schools every single day during the school year and then once a week during the summer,” Milley said. “And Chatham Bars Inn is our other big client. Every one of their departments tries their best to work with local vendors which is good to see. They are very good at recycling. We do a lot of services for them as well as trash. They do a lot of renovations there to keep the property nice. We help with brush, mulch, gravel and sand transport for them, too.”
Milley adds, “With the level of service we are able to offer it is kind of unprecedented for them (Monomoy and CBI) because if they have a problem they can call us and we are usually there within an hour. They value our response time. People don’t get that with larger corporate haulers.”
Milley is also invested in the local community and involved with many important philanthropic causes. He is on the board of directors at the Chatham Chamber of Commerce and is the president of Monomoy Community Services.
“I grew up going to the Monomoy Community Services after school program and summer programs,” he said. “I am happy to donate my time and resources to all of their events and fundraisers.”
Milley’s commitment to the community expands further beyond that. He finds enjoyment in supporting many other various local organizations like Pals for Life and the Chatham Police Department’s annual golf tournament. It is clear that their passion for the Lower Cape goes beyond the business. They are invested in the ongoing success and future of the community.
Whether you need a dumpster for a home cleanup job or want to make your life super easy each week and get trash and recycling picked up, the team at Milley’s is ready to assist you and is just a call away!
