Soup-er Heroes
HARWICH – On April 9, Cape Cod Potters hosted their 32nd annual Soup Bowls for Hunger event at the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. All of the profits benefit the Family Pantry of Cape Cod, which serves the entire Cape.
Attendees picked a handmade bowl, which they were able to take home, and chose one of three soups made by the Cape Cod Tech culinary students. The meal also included a roll, a chocolate chip cookie and a drink. Members of Cape Cod Potters and other local ceramicists donated around 600 bowls to the cause.
Valerie Murray, vice president of the Cape Cod Potters, said 450 tickets were sold, about the same amount as last year.
In addition to bowls, handmade vases were donated by Cape Cod Tech art students and used as table decor. Live music was performed by students as well.
A healthy Barnstable County requires great community news.
